For a number of years, intermodal transport has increased significantly. One large European operator, Karl Schmidt Spedition GmbH & Co has it’s own infrastructure and handling facilities and was introduced to G & J Lockwood Ltd in 2006. This allowed G & J Lockwood Ltd to move into the specialist area of Bulk Distribution after just six months by successfully tendering and winning a contract from Karl Schmidt Spedition GmbH & Co to deliver Bulk Containers within the United Kingdom.
