Up until February 2006, Graham Lockwood enjoyed a top job as the Operations Manager for Challenge Logistics Limited trading as ADR Network based in the North West of England.
The decision to start up a National and International Haulage Company with all the stresses and strains that go with it, therefore, raised many eyebrows“It’s the best move I ever made. I know on the face of it I had a great job as an Operations Manager – and all the security that went along with the position, but the reality was that I was on call 24 hours a day and could be called back to work at a moments notice.
”“A few years ago I decided that I wanted to take more control. Sometimes you’ve just got to make a move. That’s what I did once I’d discussed the situation with my wife, Julie”. Capital was raised and G & J Lockwood Limited was founded on the 26th February 2006 with Graham Lockwood as the Director and Julie Lockwood as the Company Secretary.
The company originally operated as an Owner Driver outfit. Having an Operator’s Licence for just one large goods vehicle and one semi trailer. However, after just 6 months the Operator’s Licence was increased to include three large goods vehicles and three semi trailers.
Since then the company has continued to slowly expand with the introduction of new clients and by further increasing it’s Operator’s Licence.
G & J Lockwood Limited will continue to expand by working closely with and by continually offering its clients a high quality service in the Transport and Haulage industry.
