I originally bought the car in February 1999. It was used as my everyday motor until September 2003 when it had started looking a little tired. It went into Entune2000 as a standard 1800cc bright orange rubber bumper MGB. It came out a highly tuned 2000cc light weight bright red track day car.

The front wings are fibreglass with the flared wheel arches from a Mark 1 Ford Escort grafted on. The bonnet is an aluminium MGC bonnet. The rear wings are the original steel but with the Mark 1 Escort arches again grafted on. The “Safety Devices” roll cage has been added for safety reasons along with FIA approved seats and 3 point harnesses

A fire extinguisher has been plumbed in to the engine bay. A red top high pressure fuel pump added and the brakes have been replaced with vented discs and Willwood 4 pot callipers to increase its stopping power.

The engine was a 2000cc with a road fast cam, a lightened and balanced crank, flat top pistons and a pair of 45DCOE Weber carburettors. Unfortunately the car has done one too many events and has completely destroyed the engine. It’s a case of throw away the original block and start again.
The plan this time is to replace the 4 cylinder with a 4litre cross bolt V8 married to a BMW M5 gear box. A manufacture drive shaft and a specially built limited slip differential to get all that power down to the track.
